Chocolate cake: it's food perfection.
Ingredients
Cake
- 1 cup sugar
- 100g unsalted butter
- 2 eggs
- 6 tablespoon powdered chocolate
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Icing
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoon powdered chocolate
Mise en place
- Separate the egg yolk from the whites.
Directions
- Beat the egg yolks, butter, and sugar until the dough is homogeneous.
- Add the chocolate, flour, and milk to the mixture and beat it again.
- Whip the egg whites in a separate bowl.
- Add the baking soda and the whipped whites to the mixture, folding the mixture one last time.
Try not to beat too much, you don't want to lose the air bubbles from your whippep egg whites.

Let it rest for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, grease a baking tray with butter and flower.
For the icing
- Preheat oven to 350 °F / 180 °C.
- Bring all ingredients to a saucepan and cook until it starts to boil.
- Finally, pour the chocolate on the baking tray and only then pour the cake dough on top.
- Bring the cake into the oven for 30 minutes.
As the name suggests, this cake is best served hot.
