Paprika Schnitzel
Paprika Schnitzel (or Paprikaschnitzel) is a simple yet wonderful German recipe. You can find variants of this recipe, but this one is a personal favourite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 4 slices veal sirloin cutlet
  • 2 tablespoon lemon
  • 3 tablespoon butter, unsalted
  • ½ cup onion
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
  • Salt & Pepper

Mise en place

  1. Thinly dice the onion.

  2. With a paper towel, pat the Veal Sirloin dry.

Directions

  1. Set the veal steaks on a plate and let them marinate in the lemon juice for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Pat the steaks dry and roll them into the flour.

  3. In a large skillet, sauté the onion with 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until it becomes translucent.

  4. Melt the rest of the butter over medium-high heat and quickly fry the steaks, seasoning with salt and pepper

  5. Reduce the heat and let it cook for 5 minutes.

  6. Mix the heavy cream, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  7. Pour the mixture over the steaks and let them cook for no longer than 3 minutes.

Best served with rice and potatoes. Try adding some of the sauce all over the potatoes as well.
